You Can Win Blackjack Online with the Right Strategy

When to Stand and When to Draw?
Well, this is the puzzle isn’t it! Basically we would suggest you consider following the instructions from our Printable blackjack strategy card. We also provide you a more detailed article with a look at when to hit stand or double.
The basic idea is that you should always presume that the next card to be drawn is a 10. The reason for this is that over 30% of the cards in a deck are 10’s. Now knowing this, you should presume that if the dealer has a 6 and you have a 10 then the odds are in your favor. If we continue with that example, then your 2 cards equal 10 and his one card equals 6. Then we could say that you should try double.
Theoretically he should get 16 and you should get a 20. You should stand at this point and he would have to hit again as has to carry on hitting until he has 17 or more. He would probably bust at this point. The same strategy applies in reverse. If the dealers first card is higher than yours then chances are that the dealer will win.
The Total Doubling Method (aka the Martingale)
The Martingale total doubling method itself is very dangerous and NOT recommended
The basic idea is that the house has minimum bet and a maximum bet. The idea is that you always bet the minimum and when you lose you double your bet on your next turn. If you lose again then you double again. The basic theory of this is that when you do eventually win you will make back all your losses and a bit more.
A couple of blackjack tips to remember if you ever do play this method. Make sure that the Casino has a big gap between the max bet and the minimum bet. The second thing to do is to make sure that you have enough money to double your bet at least 6 times.
Martingale Example in Blackjack
See the simplified example of how martingale system could play out in a blackjack game.
e.g. Min bet for the table is $1
If you double that six times then you should have at least $63 to bet with.
Pros – You could make a lot of cash and then cash out.
Cons – It’s a fallacy to think that a run of bad luck cannot continue for say, 10 or 15 hands. By that time, believe me, you have lost a load of money and all in an effort to win on an even money bet! NOT worth it.
Another Method of More Controlled Doubling
Another method (Controlled, and doubling on wins)
Wait until you’re ahead by two points, then use the progression: 2, 3, 5, 7, 10. If your betting unit is $1, the progression would be: $1, $1, $2, $3, $5, $7, $10. Even when you’re winning, every run of good luck will come to an end. When it does, go back to your original bet. Anytime you lose 4 hands in a row, take a break, no matter whether you are up or down.
Pros – The raised bet is preceded by a win, it’s much cheaper!
Cons – It’s so darn hard to know when to walk away a winner, the next hand could wipe your luck out!
No System is Perfect
Always remember that no system is perfect. All have their flaws and caveats. Bear in mind you should remember the edge is always on the casino’s side.
